Home-Start Garioch one of the first voluntary organisations to be awarded the Involving Volunteers Award by AVA (Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action)

Development Officer Heather McKay said "The organisation demonstrated that their volunteers are at the core of what they do, that they are trained, valued and recognised for the work that they are doing, that policies and procedures are in place to keep volunteers safe and that there is a recognition of the fantastic work being done because of volunteers. Speaking to volunteers was a great way to hear about the variety of reasons why they volunteer."

Manager, Mhairi Philip said "The volunteers at Home-Start Garioch are what make Home-Start Garioch. It is their individual knowledge and skills along with compassion. enthusiasm, endless patience, energy, sensitivity and empathy which makes all the difference.  They really are very special.
